Homemade chicken nuggets with chips
Pieces of chicken breast coated in egg and breadcrumbs and fried until golden and crisp, served with oven chips and ketchup. Some coat them in crushed cornflakes, or cook them in the oven or an air fryer.

Ingredients for 4 portions
- 600 gChicken breast, in bite-sized pieces
- to tasteSalt
- 4 tbspPlain flour
- 2Eggs
- 100 gBreadcrumbs
- 1 tspPaprika
- 4 tbspRapeseed oil, for frying
On the side
- 500 gFrench fries, frozen
- 4 tbspKetchup
Method
- Heat the oven to 220 °C and spread the frozen chips over a baking tray.
- Once the oven is hot, bake the chips for 20–25 minutes, turning them halfway, until golden and crisp.
- Meanwhile, cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt.
- Set out three shallow bowls with flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs mixed with the paprika. Coat the chicken pieces first in flour, then in egg and finally in breadcrumbs, pressing the crumb on well.
- Heat plenty of oil, about 2 cm deep, in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Fry the nuggets in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning them, until golden and cooked through. Drain on kitchen paper.
- Serve the nuggets with the chips and ketchup.
